for the Future: High
school students prepare for entering the college application and
selection process and learn about the demands of professional life
with young professionals from Manhattan.
College and professional mentors help students by sharing their
college or professional experience.
Academics & College Prep:
Tutoring (all subjects) and
study skills: Saturdays 11 AM - 4 PM, September - June
(Also available
after-school by appointment.)
SAT classes: Saturdays
2 - 4 PM, September - May
Study weekends
(three times per academic year): overnight to the Catskills,
Friday through Sunday afternoon
Workshops: concentrated
practice of writing (including college application essays), math and
MS Excel
Trips:
to universities and for community service
Parent meetings (Open
House):
three times per year at the end of each program trimester
Career Prep & Business Skills:
Business classes:
Saturdays 11 AM - 1 PM, September - June
Topics:
Financial Statements analysis, Corporate fundamentals, MS Excel
instruction, Price modeling, Direct Mail planning, Evaluating
equity, Investment performance measurement and risk analysis, Merger
& Acquisition strategies, etc
Professional Skills Development
(advanced mentoring):
For select CUP students (by
invitation only): After-school, some Saturdays, October through
mid-August
Coursework: MBA (Master
in Business Administration) case studies, speed-reading lessons, presentation
skills
Summer Internships: PSD
students compete for compensated internships at major Manhattan
firms to do first year employee level work
